On July 5, 2016, Wyld Chyld Tattoo Pittsburgh and owner, Sarah Miller made a very generous donation in the amount of $1,000 to the Pennies from Heaven Fund. Sarah is a local and internationally known tattoo artist featured on Spike TV’s Ink Master Season 2, Season 7, and winner of Ink Master’s Siren’s of Ink Special. For one week, Eden Hall Elementary School 4th, 5th & 6th grade students collected pennies, silver coins and dollars to raise money for children admitted to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh whose parents needed economic assistance to remain with them in the hospital. Every class made its own poster describing what Pennies From Heaven meant to them and the placed their donated pennies in their classroom jar. The poster winners are pictured below. Scott & Lisa Silverman’s son, Ari age 7, spent a nervous and frightening 3 1/2 weeks in the intensive care unit at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh last fall. Ari suffered complications from a staph infection in his lungs. He went into septic shock and his parents watched helplessly as he fought for his life. Curtis & Lauren Rhoten wanted to help sick children so they opened a very special ice cream business. On numerous occasions, the dynamic duo could be seen pulling their wagon down the sidewalks of their neighborhood selling ice cream treats. Small in number but huge in heart best describes the students and parents in North Allegheny’s Franklin Elementary School. The school hosted its second annual “Pennies Wars” where classes competed against each other to raise the most money for Pennies From Heaven. In addition to being awarded points for each Penny collected in the classroom jars, classes could subtract from totals by placing dollar bills in other classes’ jars. The HYATT house hotel is currently under construction on Pittsburgh’s South Side. It is the first HYATT house within 200 miles of Pittsburgh. This amazing new hotel is located between the Hofbrauhaus and the American Eagle headquarters. General Manager Michael Rhoten of Concord Hospitality, has graciously partnered with Pennies From Heaven to raise money for families in need during the Grand Opening. Every year the team at Rectenwald Brothers Construction, Inc. goes out of their way to donate to Pennies from Heaven, 2011 was no different! Art and the staff at Rectenwald Brothers decided that rather than gifts this year to clients, they would make donations on behalf of their recipients to Pennies from Heaven. This generous gift helped Pennies raise over $3,000 dollars his holiday season. Thank you Rectenwald Brothers!
Brothers Braden, Connor and Kellan Frank know how fortunate they are to have loving parents, a beautiful home, and above all else, their health.
